Ever since Günter Brus (b. in 1938, lives in Graz) made his first public appearance as an actionist with his Vienna walk in 1965, he has created a wide-ranging oeuvre. The exhibition Fault Zones at Martin-Gropius-Bau, supported by the Freunde der Nationalgalerie, was the artist’s first exhibition in Berlin, where the artist lived for many years, decisively influencing the art world of the city. The comprehensive show featuring works from the artist’s entire oeuvre, but also set several emphases of its own.
