Five Minutes of Pure Sculpture

Film on the exhibition

Anthony McCall (b. in St. Paul’s Cray, England in 1946) came to prominence in the early 1970s with his unique light installations, Solid Light Films. Hamburger Bahnhof held the largest exhibition to date of his work in 2012, where a selection of works from the last ten years was presented in the museum’s historic hall. Especially for this purpose, the expansive former rail station with its numerous windows was transformed into a dark cinema, only filled with clouds and sculptures of light.
